Chicago Meetup, July 20

Hello, nice people, Digital Tart has arranged another outing for you:

Date: Sunday, 7/20/2014

Time: 4:00pm

Location: The Chicago Cultural Center Lobby (1st floor), 78 E Washington St, Chicago, IL 60602.

Transportation: By CTA, a whole slew of busses and trains. By Metra/Electric District/South Shore Line, Millenium Station. By car not recommended due to obscenely high cost of parking.

How to Find Me: I’ll have a big sign saying ‘The Awkward Table’. And have name tags this time.  They are dorky but so useful.

How to Get in Touch Before the Meetup:  I will be reading and replying to comments as ‘DigitalTart’ both on this post on the CA main page, and the thread in the forums at http://friendsofcaptainawkward.com.  Any suggestions about improvements to or new activities for Chicago meetups are encouraged.

Thank you!

Have a lovely time!

  1. So I’m completely new to this and I have a couple questions: What would actually be going on at this meetup? Secondly, I see no thread on the forums for this meetup, am I missing something?

    1. I’ve got a schedule conflict and probably won’t be there, but in case the organizer doesn’t see this:

      1) Forum post: I don’t know where it is.
      2) Likely activities: Hanging out in the Chicago Cultural Center, which is a big free space, talking to new people for a little while. Sometimes coloring or art projects, sometimes games, sometimes looking at free art exhibits. You can bring your own food & drink into the space if you like, but do not have to spend money to be there.

  2. I am interested! I also was unable to locate a forum post, so thought I should make note of my interest here. 🙂

    1. I forgot to make a forum post for this one, sorry people! Work got buuuusy. I’m bring iPad trivia games and I’d like to make it up to the galleries this time.

      1. No worries, I understand. Unfortunately I won’t be able to make it this afternoon for similar work-related woes. I hope you have fun, and I’ll keep an eye out for future Chicago events. 🙂
